Puppy Contract

Big Thicket Doodles guarantees, to the best of our knowledge by both our own observation and using a licensed veterinarian that this puppy is in good health, is up-to-date on immunizations appropriate for this puppy’s age, and has had appropriate de-worming at the time Buyer takes possession of the puppy. The Buyer is required to have the puppy checked by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours. If the veterinarian finds that the puppy is in poor health or has a genetic defect that will interfere with the puppy's quality of life, a statement setting forth such defect from the diagnosing Veterinarian, on the Veterinarian's letterhead, must be forwarded to Big Thicket Doodles within 24 hours of such determination, and Buyer may return the puppy to Big Thicket for a full refund, minus shipping cost. Big Thicket Doodles reserves the right to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian of our choice, at our expense, to validate for any life-threatening diseases; all other veterinary and transportation expenses are the Buyers obligation. This warranty does not include viral illnesses, infections, improper bites, hernias, patella luxation, cancer, retained testicles, food allergies, minor heart murmurs (level 1 or 2), thyroid issues, Guardia or Coccidosis. It also does not include any illness due to the ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals, physical injury or issues whose cause is unknown or may have an environmental link. These are not considered life threatening diseases. Big Thicket does not guarantee against unknown defective genes that does not produce an illness within the guarantee period. This guarantee excludes conditions that arise from obesity or senior ailments, such as blindness, diabetes, etc. Once the puppy is delivered, the buyer assumes all responsibility for the puppy. Breeder does not guarantee against common puppy issues such as but not limited to coccidia, which can be caused by stress, worms, giardia, ear mites or kennel cough. These are common puppy ailments and can easily be treated. Your puppy has been treated on a schedule from the age of 2 weeks for these conditions and it is now the Buyers responsibility to continue on any needed treatments and have the puppy checked for parasites on a regular basis. No guarantee is also given on hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) which is preventable. Also excludes training difficulties or behavior problems.

Big Thicket Doodles provides this warranty for 24 months after the date of sale against any debilitating genetic defects parent dogs have been tested for. In the event the puppy exhibits symptoms of a suspected debilitating genetic defect, a statement setting forth such defect from diagnosing Veterinarian, on the Veterinarian's letterhead, must be forwarded to Big Thicket Doodles and Poodles within 24 hours of such determination. Big Thicket Doodles and Poodles reserves the right to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian of our choice, at our expense, to validate for any life-threatening diseases; all other veterinary and transportation expenses are the Buyers obligation. If the puppy is found to have a life-threatening genetic defect as stated above, the Buyer has the option of either (1) a replacement puppy from the next available litter of equal value Or (2) reimbursement (up to the purchase price of the original puppy) of veterinary expenses related to that illness. All shipping cost for current and/or for a new puppy will be paid for by the Buyer.

If the puppy should die from a suspected genetic defect within the 24 months of its date of purchase, an autopsy must be performed at the Buyer’s expense by a veterinary teaching hospital or state licensed DVM acceptable to sellers’ own veterinarian. If the autopsy shows a genetic defect as the reason or the death, the Seller will provide another puppy of equal value to the purchaser. A written statement from the veterinarian must be provided. This warranty is void in the event of an indeterminable or inconclusive diagnosis.

Big Thicket Doodles cannot guarantee size or temperament. We can only estimate the size based of weight and the size of the parents. Puppies could grow larger or stay smaller than projected size. Big Thicket does not guarantee color, coat quality, amount of shedding or lifespan of puppy. This puppy is PET quality only. No warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, are made under this contract except as stated.

Our puppies are sold as PET only. Buyer agrees to have the puppy spayed or neutered by no more than 12 months from date of birth. Buyer agrees to forward spay/neuter certificate to Big Thicket once the procedure has been carried out. Failure to spay/neuter the puppy voids this contract. Any dog that has sired or whelped one or more pups is no longer covered under this guarantee. This puppy is sold under a limited registration. Limited registration is void of any breeding rights.

If at any time the Buyer can no longer retain possession of the dog the Breeder is to be contacted and given the first option to resume full ownership or to assist family in the rehoming process. The Buyer agrees that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will the Buyer ever surrender the Goldendoodle to an animal shelter or rescue. If the Buyer should ever find themselves in a situation where the dog cannot be kept, the Seller will provide a loving home for the dog until they can be placed elsewhere. When the Breeder or new family takes possession of the dog it will be returned with their veterinarian records and all paperwork issued for the dog, including any registration documents. Breeder is ALWAYS willing to take dog back at no cost to breeder at any time in their life.

Conditions of guarantee are as follows:

This guarantee is non-transferable. If the puppy has been sold, or given away, the health guarantee becomes void. All veterinary costs are the owner's expense. If the puppy has been physically injured, abused, or neglected in any manner, this guarantee is void.

It is mutually understood and agreed that all terms and agreements in this contract shall be extended to and be obligatory upon to any heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and Personal Representatives of the respective parties and/or their assigns.

When registering your puppy with The Goldendoodle Registry (TGR) or any other applicable registration, the Buyer agrees to use “Big Thicket’s” at the beginning of any registration name. Examples: If your puppy’s name is to be ‘Big Man’, his registered name should be Big Thicket’s Big Man.

Buyer agrees to allow Big Thicket to use photos, videos, or other information about their puppy on our Instagram page, website, and other media outlets for information or advertising purpose. However, due to the unpredictable nature of the internet, Big Thicket agrees to protect the privacy of our buyers to the absolute best of our ability, especially minors. AT YOUR REQUEST, we will happily cover the faces of anyone in your pictures. We will use first names, first initial, and/or a nickname (provided by Buyer) for each person and member of your family.

Big Thicket agrees to offer moral support throughout the life of your puppy, to the best of our ability. At any time during the life or end of life care of your beloved Big Thicket Pup, we are here to assist where we can, answer questions, offer suggestions, hold your hand, allow you to vent, or any other pup moral support we can provide. The Buyer agrees to be 100% responsible for any and all vet or care expenses incurred once possession of the pup has taken place. Big Thicket is not responsible for any expenses incurred once the puppy has been picked up by Buyer, though in the event that possession of the pup cannot be maintained by Buyer, Big Thicket will retake possession of the pup, at any time during his life, for any reason, at no expense to Big Thicket.

Big Thicket Doodles has the right to refuse the sale of a dog at any time we see fit.
